FAQ's

How do I register to vote?

As the next election year approaches, look out for different organizations to sponsor voter registration events. There will be many that occur. If you register at one of these events or at the DMV, keep a lookout for your voter registration card in the mail. If 3 weeks goes by and you have not received your card, call the County Clerk's office to check on the status of your registration (933-4520). It's important to follow up so you can be sure of your voting status before the election.

Voter registration forms are available at the County Clerk’s Office, 511 S. Main Street, Suite 202, Jonesboro.

**Please note that you cannot register to vote online.**

How do I find my precinct?

Arkansans who are interested in finding where your home address is compared to new election Districts like Justice of Peace Districts, School Board Zones or Municipal Wards we’ve got a resource for you. Our Find My Districts map is updated and located here: https://gis.arkansas.gov/viewer.php

This resource is very easy to use. Enter your address like this [ 501 Woodlane St, Little Rock, AR, 72201 ] and the system will navigate the map to your location. Or, if for some reason the system cannot locate your address, you can also navigate using the + or – button to zoom in or out, and then click the map to drag it to your area and continuing zooming in to your location. Once there click your spot on the map.  A District Info box will list all the election districts for that location. The District Info box will list both the new House and Senate Districts that will be used for the 2022 general elections and the House or Senate member in the current districts that remain in effect until the election.

You can also use Voter View to see your election Districts and see your sample ballot once those are available in early April.

A Pocket Guide to voting in the Natural State

How do I change my address?

If you move within Arkansas: Complete a Voter Registration Application, checking the box for "This is an address change" and completing the bottom half of the form. Submit it to the county clerk in your new county no later than 4 days before a scheduled election. Otherwise, you will not be eligible to vote in your new county for that election. Counties will periodically mail notices to voters who have not voted in several elections. If you receive such a notice, it is important that you mark your correct address and return the notice to the county clerk so your registration can be updated. The Secretary of State performs another safeguard: routinely checking for duplicate registrations across the state. Just to make sure, it’s best for you to notify the county clerk in your old county and confirm that your registration has been transferred.

If your name changes: If you legally change your name due to marriage, divorce or other reason, complete a Voter Registration Application and check the box for "This is a name change," making sure to complete the bottom half of the form.
