2021 Redistricting

The Craighead County Election Commission voted to adopt Option 4 to redistrict the Justice of the Peace districts. An overview map were in the Jonesboro Sun on November 23, 2021. The current maps and voted changes were on display at the Election Annex until December 27, 2021. The deadline for any suit to contest the apportionment has passed.

ARKANSAS ANNOTATED CODE §14-14-106 CONTEST OF APPORTIONMENT

Original jurisdiction of any suit to contest the apportionment made for county quorum court districts by a county board of election commissioners is vested in the circuit court of the affected county. Any such contest shall be filed with the circuit court with thirty (30) days following the date publication appears in a newspaper of general circulation.

Important Dates 

December 23, 2021 - Deadline for contest to be filed with the circuit court

The Election Commission also approves the school board maps. The Bay School District zone map was approved at the November 19, 2021 meeting. The Valley View School District zone map was approved December 20, 2021. Meetings for approving the other school district maps will be announced at a later date.
